You are my Bucket list

It seems as if the older I get the more my bucket list changes. And maybe ‘bucket list’ is the wrong name for such a list but they are, in fact, things I want to do before I die, the order at which I want to achieve them is what changes. Since meeting Scott 11 years ago, he has helped me cross off 2 of the biggest to do’s…fall in love, and get married. I will own my truth, however, and tell you my #1 has never, ever changed since I was 10. #jackdawsonforever...

  • Meet Leonardo Dicaprio
  • Become a mom
  • Change someone's life for the better
  • Make Leonardo Dicaprio fall in love with me

  • I can’t remember one person who ever said following your dreams, or achieving your goals, would be easy. Actually, I vividly remember people telling me it was damn near impossible. But, if we all gave up when we were too scared, too defeated, too tired, too overworked, or just too confused then think of what our lives would look like? If I would have given up last February when a doctor told me it would be "a challenge" then I never would have experienced a life changing miscarriage, Impatient Dixie never would have happened, and I wouldn't treasure certain friendships like I do today. But more importantly, If I would have never tried again I wouldn't be able to make this post, today.

I don't know much about anything but there are things I know of for sure; Life isn't easy. Life isn't fair. God tests our strength every day. There are some things in our life that we go through and it will never make sense. But, I also know that this life is worth the struggles. God gives you things in his timing. And finally, personally, I know I was put on this earth to be a mother. I have never been more sure about anything in my life besides the fact that being a mother is my destiny.

So, with that, I present to you (with the help of Scott, of course) Baby Morris. Due to arrive December 6th, 2014.

And before I lose any followers: I PROMISE YOU THIS...no bump selfies, no belly shots, no ultrasound pictures, no delivery room posts, and for the next 6 months this will NOT be a pregnancy blog. Some things in life, we just need to keep to ourselves.

(And let it be known, I'm still holding out for #1...a girls got to at least dream, right?)

    current {Summer} obsessions

It's the summer I've been waiting 14 years for: the return of Birks and overalls. I mean, my ultimate wish of it being Limited Too overalls and floral print Birkenstocks clearly isn't what's back but hey, I'll take what I can get! I wish I could remember why I thought the summer of '00 was the best summer of my life but I couldn't tell you. I don't remember a particular story, person, or reason that made it so great but in my mind, it was.

I've got a good feeling about the Summer of '14 this time around and to get me ready for it, I've highlighted just a few of my favorite things {at the moment} to make this Summer just as memorable as the one 14 years ago.

What was your year? What year will forever be in your memory as a year you will never forget? A year that you can safely say you were happy 99% of the time?

    Summer Glow

All above products from Beauty Counter

Let's face it, I have always struggled with my skin. I've spent countless dollars on cremes, lotions, dermatologist appointments, doctors, everything under the sun just to make a few blemishes go away. While playing competitive sports all throughout high school, I majorly struggled with "sports induced acne"...I'm sorry but W.T.F? Let it be known, there is NOTHING a teenage girl loves more than acne on her spine or chest...really brings all the boys out! Acne in your teenage years is a part of growing up. The few people that don't suffer from it, and we all remember 'those' people, are the lucky few.

The older I get the more I realize that blemishes happen, they pop up from time to time and after years of thinking there's nothing I could do about it, I found this. Not only do I feel like it is a grown-ups version of ProActiv but, the story behind the company is what makes me a believer. Did you know; "The United States has not passed a federal law to regulate the ingredients used in personal care products since 1938?" I'm sorry, what? We care so much about the food we put into our bodies and that of our children and family but when it comes to what we put ON our bodies, we have dropped the ball. We do not care what it is, if it is harmful or not, we just do it and most of us pay an obscene amount of money for this.

Thank God for my fabulous cousin for introducing me to Beauty Counter and all the glory behind it. No, the prices are not drug store prices but they are FAR from department store prices. If you are still looking for that perfect skin (and hair!) care line that clears up your skin, I can't say enough good things about this company.  Take a chance,  you never know what might happen.
