Anniversary round up...take 4. THINGS I NEED NOW

This year, Nordstrom is doing things a little different. They are really focusing on "buy now, wear now" fashion. And it's working. I am amazing at the amount of product that is already sold out and the amount of goods that are quickly dwindling down! I wanted to highlight just a few of my favorite things to wear (and use) year round.

And seriously, the candles are the absolute best. (I usually but 2 packs and break them up for Christmas gifts!)
Voluspa Maison Blanc three pack $29.90
I have yet to meet a Voluspa candle that I didn't love the smell of. Seriously. Not too sweet, not too floral. Just clean and fresh.

Cole Haan Velvet sneaker $84.90
Whether we like it or not, velvet is back again this year. (insert awkward smile here.) I still can't get myself to love the crushed velvet look but I can totally get behind these Cole Haan velvet sneaks. Subtle but fashionable but overall, insanely comfortable.

Soprano Stripe Off the shoulder tee $22.90
I mean, it's target price.

Trouve Wrap Blouse $45.90
Hey, mama's, this top was made for us! It's a wrap top that is not too fussy but nursing friendly! And, you can totally wear it after nursing. I've tried it on and I've seen A LOT of different body types try it on as well and it's amazing.
Franco Sarto Matisse Bootie $99.90
PRAISE JESUS!!!! The perfect heel height bootie! Not to mention, Franco Sarto makes a killer shoe. Sups comfy!

Leith Ballet Crop Wide leg Ponte jumpsuit $49.90
I'm down' it. I'm going to rock the jumpsuits this year. I held off long enough and these 2 are the perfect addition to a dress full closet. Wear it with sneaks for a casual look, or heels for the perfect night out. (Or, in my case, a day that I sleep more than 6 hours and feel like a total BA.)

Topshop Spot Strappy Culotte Jumpsuit $52.90
Again, 100% doing this.

Caslon Long Sleeve Crewneck Tee $19.90
If you get anything this sale...get these. In every color. I wish I was kidding. The perfect length to wear with skinny jeans, or if you are shorter, leggings. great layering piece and so incredibly comfortable! Washes well too!

Anniversary round up. TAKE 2...KIDDOS.

Let's be real-- The #nsale has a ton darling baby clothes. Like, pit-in-my-stomach cute. But now a days, with a rambunctious 2 year old and a 3 month old that throws up ALL THE DAMN time, you'll find us shopping cat & jack at target. Cause, priorities.

HOWEVER, Nordstrom hit a home run this year with baby GEAR. yeah, they've got strollers & carseats, oh my! But, 2 of the baby items I literally cannot live without are on the sale and I will officially be come "that mom" that is buying extra blankets to hide, just in case we lose one...someday.
The holy grail of playpens. This Acts as an activity gym AND a bed. It's got a soft, removable mattress, a mosquito net (praise!), toys, AND....IT'S UV 50+. The only real question is: Can I fit in it?
I mean. Do I really need to discuss this? sizes 8 (toddler) up to a size 13 in women's? K, see ya.
At this point, just take all my money.
As if they will actually still be available by day 2. But---WHAT?!
Do you're self a favor. Splurge. This is the ONLY blanket Hadley will sleep with and if she doesn't have it--you better find it. And yes, I will be buying 1-2 more not because I'm totally unrealistic but if she were to ever lose hers, I shutter to think of what will become of me.
Another "mommy must" for our house. It ha sa flexible straw so kiddos can make sure to drink everything. Easy closure, spill proof, easy to grab.

Ok, no. This clearly isn't for every kid. But, I want to draw attention to Tucker & Tate. I've got a few items by them and it holds up so well! Stains come right out, doesn't shrink, and holds it shape. Not to mention, something like this is reversible--that's like a 2 for 1 deal, right?
These. Holy shit, THESE. prior to having Hadley 2.5 years ago I had heard horror stories about people going through TONS of bottles just trying to find the one that would work. Hadley took to these so incredible well, I thought it was a fluke. Then a girlfriend of mine had her daughter try them. Same thing. Now, Hunter...sucks it down as if it's the real deal. "A soft, squeezable bottle features a silicone nipple that mimics breastfeeding and eases breast-to-bottle transitioning." So there.
Cause it's F-ing adorable. And it gets cold in Kansas.

Anniversary round up...take 3. ACTIVE

For sake of time I am only picturing 3 items but that doesn't mean the active department insane!
First off, The only style of legging that will be on the sale is the high waisted legging. Don't flip...that's because they are the best. sits right above your belly button, holds everything in, and isn't see-thru. Yes--they have a ton of styles of these leggings so no worries there.

I may, or may not, have this exact same cardi from last year in 2 colors. OH MY GEE. Oh, and did I mention that it has a snap closure at the neck the could double as a nursing top? You're welcome.
It's like all of my favorite words, in one style. high waist? check. relaxed? check. leggings? check. POCKETS?! duh.

For those "edgy" days.

Anniversary round up. TAKE 1.

Ahhh, my love/hate relationship with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year for any consumer. The best items, at the best prices, at the best store, for only 28 days. After that 28th day, it all goes back to regular price, that's if there is anything left!

For those of you that do not know who I am or what I do let me (re) introduce myself. I'm Amy. I work in the visual department at Nordstrom. Which really means, anything you see in a store that is not for sale, we are in charge of. Yes, mannequins and windows too. Yes, the holiday set up that has to be executed the night before Thanksgiving. And yes, the set up for the anniversary sale. (Now do you understand the "love/hate" relationship?)

I've been able to look at ALL of the #nsale merchandise for the past 3 weeks and guys, IT'S GOOD. REAL good. Not only are the buys amazing but the discounts are STEEP. Not only are these some of my favorite knitwear looks but, CHECK OUT THE PRICES!

#nsale Anniversary prep

If you've never experienced the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale than I get it. You're like, WTF is going on. Not only is social media set afire about it, but the store itself looks like it's a clearance center. Well, it kind of it.

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has been going on for as long as I can remember. During the sale, Nordstrom deeply marks down brand new merchandise for only 28 days. In the past, the merchandise that was marked down is all brand new, never seen before, fall & winter merchandise. Today, it's so much more than that. Nordstrom works closely all year with their top vendors to be able to provide exceptional products that you can "buy now, wear now" as well as your fabulous fall essentials...all at a serious discount. (**Did I mention beauty as well?**)

Here are a few of my "professional" tips...

1. Shop early. Things will sell out, and they will sell out fast. Yes, some items will be restocked but it's no guarantee.

2. BECOME A CARD HOLDER. Nordstrom has 3 different types cards. A retail card, a signature visa, and a retail visa. You get rewards for every dollar spent and...YOU GET TO SHOP EARLY.

Yes, as a Nordstrom card holder, you get to shop this sale 7 days early! Starting tomorrow, July 13th, any Nordstrom card holder can shop the sale. If you aren't a card holder, you have to wait until July 21st to get the best savings.

3. If you see it, like it, and it's in your size...buy it. Nordstrom's return policy is by far the best. Which is, there is no set time frame for returns. Now, they might question a to coming back 3 years later but--there isn't a time frame. You could purchase a few things and ship them back or bring them back to the store. Not to mention: free shipping, free returns, ALL THE TIME.

Now, as a tease, check out what's in the anniversary lookbook

Summer wardrobe: take 2.

So this will be great. My summer wardrobe is going to be a healthy mix of my pre-teen years, Abercrombie and Fitch (see my last post) and my future PTO-board self, Ann Taylor. The best part about it? I really could care less. Because, LET'S DISCUSS ANN TAYLOR LOFT.

First things first, they are always having a major sale. Like this weekend, everything is 30% off. (40% if you're a cardholder)...So, that's rad. Second, not only does everything run true to size, if anything it runs big...and who doesn't love saying "I need the next size down". Finally, the shit holds up!!! It's all super comfortable, easy to care for, and fits great. Do you want me to keep talking or should I just stop so you can shop?

**Edit: To all the mommy's out there-- Loft has a ton of nursing friendly tops and sweater.  Be watching for a blog post soon on this!

Summer wardrobe: take 1.

Can someone just real quick brief me on where the last 15+ years went? 'Cause I could have sworn I was wearing this brand in middle school. In fact, I know I was because there was nothing my mother hated more than having to go into the God-awful, loud, overly cologned stores to find me the perfect $39.50 tank top.

Maybe the end of the world really is closer than I think because the damage I just did on their website is a real good indication that I've either A) gone complete cynical or B) They are reinventing themselves.

I'm talking about Abercrombie & Fitch (insert song lyric here). I stumbled upon their website (which they def didn't have the last time I shopped there) and my shopping cart started filling up faster than the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale...CHECK THIS OUT...
