For the Men

Yes, it's another post about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. But fear not--it has nothing to do with you, woman. By this time, we have purchased all of the cardigans, boots and beauty essentials one could ever hope for. But, what I haven't talked about is the fact that LITERALLY 60% of the men's department at Nordstrom is currently on the Anniversary sale. Even if I didn't care what Scott dressed like (which I do), I would still only dress him in the Nordstrom Smartcare shirts & pants. Additionally, I have every intention of buying Hunter smartcare as soon as he is done shitting himself. ('cause, parenting!) Smartcare is 100% cotton ,wrinkle-free, wrinkle-resistant fabric that holds it's shape. Real talk--it's the only shirts that Scott wears because there is not a chance in hell that I am going to iron them. HARD PASS. Not to mention, they even have smartcare dress pants that come in 3 different styles, 3 different inseams, and a plethora of waist sizes.

The anniversary sale is still pretty stacked in the men's department so whether you are 'buying now, wearing now' or even buying to put away from a holiday, now's the time to get your man the clothing that will change BOTH of your lives!

(you're welcome.)
Nordstrom Smartcare 'georgetown' dress pants $48.90
This is a new cut for Nordstrom and they are AMAZING. They are a tapered, slim leg and an all around better fit for the more modern man. I made Scott put them on so you can see the length. Scott is 6 foot and is wearing the 32 inseam. *He also said they are very comfortable and he loves the modern fit.

And, the other Smartcare pants. All come out of the dryer wrinkle-free. Additionally, they come in a plethora of sizes and inseams!
for the sake of time, I wanted to just highlight the 2 different fits on the smartcare dress shirts. When it comes to pattern and colors---whatever you wish for. seriously, so many options! **And again, with the price...I like to call that "target prices".
Tommy John-- the best underwear money can buy...I so wish I was kidding. So, I couldn't get myself to screen shot the front of this model. We've all seen boxer briefs before. But in all seriousness...THESE. Made with 90% micromodal (silky soft) and spandex (awesome stretch), these trunks are the best of the best. They are a little pricey at $20.90 a pair but it's money well spent.
All Hail the king of shoes: Cole Haan. First, they partnered with Nike and made Nike air Cole Haan dress shoes--men of the world rejoiced. Now, they made a shoe with an innovative cushioning foam that gives you all day relief and comfort. In other words--insanely comfortable and incredibly stylist.
And last, but certainly not least, the casual wear. I think we can all agree that it's time to update the man's lounge pants. For the love of God, please?? The XXL fleece lined sorority party pants that Scott still tries to wear to Costco on a Sunday literally makes me cringe. *And no one cares that you went to the Chi Omega party in 2006.* While we are at it, let's go ahead and update that beloved North Face jacket that has your fraternity letters on it as well! It's RARE when you see a Patagonia on sale, let alone one that is very neutral. Finally, the Nike advance pants. I get it, looking that these you think "not a chance in hell". But I promise, they are so comfortable on and you will find that the tapered leg isn't a bother, not to mention, it's a slimming look!

Happy shopping to all!

#nsale Anniversary prep

If you've never experienced the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale than I get it. You're like, WTF is going on. Not only is social media set afire about it, but the store itself looks like it's a clearance center. Well, it kind of it.

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has been going on for as long as I can remember. During the sale, Nordstrom deeply marks down brand new merchandise for only 28 days. In the past, the merchandise that was marked down is all brand new, never seen before, fall & winter merchandise. Today, it's so much more than that. Nordstrom works closely all year with their top vendors to be able to provide exceptional products that you can "buy now, wear now" as well as your fabulous fall essentials...all at a serious discount. (**Did I mention beauty as well?**)

Here are a few of my "professional" tips...

1. Shop early. Things will sell out, and they will sell out fast. Yes, some items will be restocked but it's no guarantee.

2. BECOME A CARD HOLDER. Nordstrom has 3 different types cards. A retail card, a signature visa, and a retail visa. You get rewards for every dollar spent and...YOU GET TO SHOP EARLY.

Yes, as a Nordstrom card holder, you get to shop this sale 7 days early! Starting tomorrow, July 13th, any Nordstrom card holder can shop the sale. If you aren't a card holder, you have to wait until July 21st to get the best savings.

3. If you see it, like it, and it's in your size...buy it. Nordstrom's return policy is by far the best. Which is, there is no set time frame for returns. Now, they might question a to coming back 3 years later but--there isn't a time frame. You could purchase a few things and ship them back or bring them back to the store. Not to mention: free shipping, free returns, ALL THE TIME.

Now, as a tease, check out what's in the anniversary lookbook!

When too much is a good thing

Shirt: J. Crew

I've always believed that too much of a good thing can be a bad thing...sometimes. Well, especially when it comes to J. Crew. The first rule with J. Crew is to never, EVER buy anything full price. Before you know it the item you love will be, at the very least, 25% off.  Right now, they have 30% off of sale items then an additional 25% off (or 30% off if you are a card member)...so that means it's practically free, right?

This print is everything to me right now. Um, yes, I would like to grab my passport, get on a plane and head to Paris, how'd you know, J. Crew?

Don't be 'that' person

3.1 Phillip Lim cashmere sweater dress: SCOOP NYC // $650, marked down to $189, with an additional 30% off...that's 80% off, folks.

I'm not asking you to get down on your hands and knees and go through tubs at JCP. All I'm saying is smaller stores (independently owned or not) take heavy markdowns and sooner than your department stores. The reason being is that they do not have enough room to house the next seasons arrivals that usually get in months in advance.

Just don't be that person that's too good to look at the sale rack. Shop small, shop local, shop sales.

Tis the Season

Top: Kate Spade// Jeans: Baldwin Denim// Jacket: Nordstrom// Jewelry: Vanessa Mooney

Although this is a little late, it’s never late to wear a little sequins. It’s also a great time to get all of these looks MAJORLY on sale with after New Year’s prices. Shoppers always think that the best time to buy clothing is the day after Christmas. Yes, you can always find great deals but, take it from a retailer, they don’t do the serious mark downs until after New Years or even on New years day. You’d be shocked at the amount of stores that do the “additional 25%, 30%, or even 40-50% off sale”.
